It’s not every day you can swing dance in Wenonah Park! On Thursday, August 18, everyone is invited to attend BaySail’s Summer Breeze concert fundraiser featuring the big-band sounds of Detroit’s Rhythm Society Orchestra. And the best part – the concert is FREE!
This year marks the third time Summer Breeze has featured the 15-piece Rhythm Society Orchestra since it’s inaugural event in 2014. Proceeds from the event benefit BaySail, the Bay City-based nonprofit that provides environmental education and character building programs aboard the Appledore tall ships.
Don’t miss a FREE dance lesson at 6:30 p.m. provided by Bay City Ballroom, a dance studio located right here in Downtown Bay City. Bay City Ballroom dancers will be around throughout the concert demonstrating the dances of the bygone era.
Important info for concertgoers:
- Cash bar opens at 5:00 p.m.
- FREE swing dance lesson at 6:30 p.m.
- Rhythm Society Orchestra concert starts at 7:00 p.m.
- Bring your own lawn chair
- Appledore IV will offer free deck tours throughout the evening
- Good will donations are accepted and benefit BaySail’s educational programs
